1. Trunk or Treat - MORE TRUNKS NEEDED!

Sunday, October 24, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m., Grace athletic field parking lot

Join us for trick or treating, candy, food and fun! This is a terrific evening to invite your friends, family, and neighbors to share in some costume (not scary) fun.

We need more trunks... we can't have Trunk or Treat without trunks. Help us create a fun, safe night of Trick or Treating for kids by hosting a themed trunk. It is easy and fun! Our Children's Ministry team is happy to share ideas for quick, easy, fun trunks. Contact Johneice Haney at jhaney@gpch.org for trunk information. Register HERE for trunks and food.

Donate candy... we always need candy to help support those who host a trunk to share with those who attend. Please help with candy donations, there are “candy bins” in the Welcome Center or you may donate from the Amazon Wish List HERE.

2. A Grace Disguised-Grief Class

Starting Thursday, October 14

Whoever thought that grief would be described as grace? Anyone that has suffered loss knows that processing grief is very difficult. Grace is hosting our first Grace Disguised class where we will learn and share about the grief process, pray and enjoy fellowship together. This six-week class begins Thursday, October 14 at 6:00 p.m. in MTH 101. The book Grace Disguised by Jerry Sittser will be available for purchase for $10.00 at the first class or you can purchase directly from Amazon. For more information please contact Sandra Babcock at sbabcock@gpch.org or register HERE.

3. New Courses October 31 - December 5

Biblical/Theological Track

Course Title: Hard Questions - Hard Conversations (Part B), part A is not a pre-requisite, anyone may take this course.

Facilitator Teacher: Chris French

Location: TBD

Description: Do you feel ill equipped to have conversations about difficult topics from a Biblical perspective? If so, then this is the perfect course for you! Christian faith includes many controversial beliefs that non-Christians find hard to accept. Part B of this course will explore 6 issues that might cause someone to dismiss Christianity—issues such as the existence of suffering, the Bible’s teaching on gender and sexuality, the authority of the Bible, and more. In this course we will have conversations about the best research from sociology, science, and psychology that doesn’t disagree with but actually aligns with claims found in the Bible.  This course will help us understand why these issues and how to discuss them with people that disagree with us.

Transformational Track

Course Title: Ponder: Christmas

Primary Resource: Ponder materials and resources provided by Amy French

Facilitator Teacher: Amy French

Location: Massey-Tucker Hall Room A

Description: Ponder: Christmas will expand your awareness of the Word of God as we explore scripture related to Advent. By giving words time and space, they can take on a new perspective and meaning you may have never considered. The richness of getting the words off the pages and into a conversation with others and into conversation with God is something that helps take words from knowledge to experience.  The Greek word for ponder is also translated “discussed”. The goal is awareness, engagement and communion.
