1. World Communion Sunday

October 4, 10 a.m., Sanctuary and Livestream

We are thrilled to celebrate the global church of Jesus Christ together in worship through Communion and the Proclaimed Word of God, brought to us from Pastor Jean Valéry Vital-Herne in Haiti. Scripture reminds us that whether we are worshipping from halfway around the globe, from our living rooms, or from the Sanctuary that we are God's people and are one body through the Spirit of Jesus Christ, our Lord! (1 Corinthians 12:12-13).

We are thrilled to have guest preacher, Jean Valery Vital-Herne. He is an ordained pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy. He’s been working in Capacity Building, leadership development and advocacy for the past 15 years. He is passionate to see the church in Haiti play its role as salt and light in the world, especially in hard places. Since 2016, he has collaborated with Living Water in different capacities to engage in Integral Mission churches partnering with the organization. Valery has studied Business Administration, Literature and is completing a study in Transformational Leadership. He is married to Kettely and they have two children, Emilie and Jonathan.

Worship for this special day will be livestreamed from the Sanctuary at 10 a.m., and we invite you to come celebrate with us in person with your masks on and physically distanced! Find all the details about our annual Flag Processional during the service by clicking the Connect button at the bottom of this page. Worship is only livestreamed at 10 a.m. this week (no service links this week will be provided for Vimeo and YouTube).

If in-person worship is not right for your family yet, please continue to join us for our livestream service at 10 a.m. The link will be available HERE. And as we join together as the Church from our various locations, we invite you to celebrate Holy Communion with your family. Please find something to use for bread and for juice/wine so that you can celebrate with us!

NOTE: NO REGISTRATION IS NECESSARY FOR OCTOBER 4. On Monday, October 5, we will open registration for the rest of October's in-person services. We also will open up registration for childcare. See details for childcare by clicking the Connect button at the bottom of this page.

2. Congregational Meeting

October 4, following the 10 a.m. Worship Service

We look forward to seeing you at the congregational meeting on October 4 immediately following the 10 a.m. World Communion Sunday service. We expect the service to conclude and the meeting to begin around 11 a.m. To meet our quorum, we need 171 covenant partners in attendance at the meeting, so we ask that you make it a priority to join the meeting.

There will not be discussion groups this Sunday – they will resume on October 11. Also, since there are no groups, you do not have to pre-register for this Sunday.

We strongly encourage everyone to join us in person as this provides the best worship and meeting experience. For those who cannot attend, the service will be livestreamed, and the meeting will follow immediately after the service in the same livestream. We will send instructions to join the service and meeting online later this week.

3. Living Water Virtual Gala

Thursday, October 8, 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. CDT

You are invited to participate online in Living Water International’s 2020 Behold Gala to celebrate LWI’s 30 years of providing water, for life, in Jesus’ name.  Due to the unique times we are living in, LWI has re-imagined their traditional in-person event and moved it online and we are all invited to celebrate with people around the world this year.

Over the past several years, Grace’s partnership with LWI has mobilized members of our congregation and helped to mobilize the global church in several countries, especially in Haiti. We are thrilled with the progress of the WASH Program (Water Access Sanitation and Hygiene) in northern Haiti. Grace provided the leading gift to initiate this program in northern Haiti. To learn more, click HERE. For more information, contact Chris French.

To participate in this free event, register at www.water.cc/gala to watch Behold on your computer, phone, tablet, or streaming device for free. LWI will email you the livestream link 24 hours before the event.

What to Expect:

  1. Look back at the past 30 years of Living Water International – celebrating the lives of more than six million people in 18 countries around the world who have been impacted through water, for life, in Jesus’ name.

  2. Hear inspiring stories from the President and CEO, founders, and global staff to go deeper into an experience of the story of God and water.

  3. Unite with others around the world as we raise funds to help support our critical COVID-19 response efforts in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and India.
