1. State of Grace

Sunday, August 29, 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary

Join us for our next State of Grace meeting in the Sanctuary following worship. Pastor Julia will be updating the congregation on church plans as we look towards fall, our financial status and more. If you are unable to attend in person, the same livestream link from worship will be used for the State of Grace. There will be no equipping hour for adults, but there will be children’s Sunday school and childcare.

2. New Grace Worship Nights

Monthly Sunday evening worship and dinner
September 12, in the Chapel 5:00 p.m. worship, 6:00 p.m. potluck dinner

In the beauty of our chapel, on launch Sunday, we’re beginning a monthly Sunday evening worship series with deep roots called The Ninefold Path of Jesus. In the Beatitudes, Jesus invites us into nine postures for living a life of faith in the world. Over the next nine months we invite you to join us in worship as we look at how these teachings of Jesus form us as followers of Christ through the words, postures, and practices.

Following worship will be a potluck dinner in Massey Tucker Hall. Note that this worship service will be completely different content from the Sunday mornings series on Romans. Childcare is available, please contact Julie Clark with the names and ages of your children.

Save the dates for other fall Grace Worship Nights on Sundays, October 3, November 7 and December 5.

3. New Epic Courses Coming Sept 12

Yes, you are a disciple! Someone who follows Christ, is being transformed by Christ, and engages in the mission of Christ is a disciple. Someone who is rooted in Christ and experiences His deep love.

This semester there are two EPIC (Equipping People In Community) course options to best fit your spiritual growth as a disciple:

  • The Biblical/Theological Track will focus on a course that helps us define what we believe and why.
    • Course Title: Hard Questions-Hard Conversations (Part A)
      • Description: This course will help us understand hard questions and issues about Christianity and how to discuss them with people that disagree with us.
  • The Transformational Track will focus on a course that helps transform us to grow more fully in Christ.
    • Course Title: One Breath at a Time: A Skeptic's Guide to Christian Meditation
      • Description: Using scripture, theology, and examples from the early church, this course looks at the prayer habits of Christians and will help you begin and sustain a Christian meditation practice in an often chaotic world.
