#L2MJV

At our very core, Grace is a community of people who recognize the fact that we are all broken. Whether we have been part of the Grace family for decades or days, we are all recipients of God’s amazing grace. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we have been redeemed and set free to live as His witnesses. What a privilege!

You may also be aware that part and parcel of our strategy at Grace is to be people who strive to live our lives in such a way that we are making Jesus visible. Whether we are gathered together to worship and celebrate the Lord; connecting with others in authentic gospel-centered community; or blessing others across the street and around the world—we must be making Jesus visible (#L2MJV). Put simply, wherever we are and whatever we are doing—we are His witnesses.

Earlier this week, a colleague shared a convicting quote: “When ministry becomes performance, then the sanctuary becomes a theater, the congregation becomes an audience, worship becomes entertainment, and man’s applause and approval become the measure of success. But when ministry is for the glory of God, his presence moves into the sanctuary. Even the unsaved visitor will fall down on his face, worship God, and confess that God is among us” (Warren and David Wiersbe).

Friends, living to make Jesus visible must never be a performance—it must be a passionate response. When we courageously live as His witnesses, we will be hard-pressed to win the approval from everyone. However, I am convinced if we continue to seek the will of God and faithfully respond to His leading, Grace, and more important, the Kingdom, will experience significant growth.

I invite you to join me in praying for Grace to be a community of people who will unwaveringly participate in life-giving ministry for the glory of God. This may seem daunting and, in fact, countercultural. Both are true—precisely why we must fall down on our faces in humility.

Living to make Jesus visible—you never know who is watching.

Press On,

Trey
