Guidance for your time of prayer

Use the guide below to walk you through a time of prayer, Scripture reading, reflection, and worship.

Begin your time with worship

Daily Scripture Reading

Main Gospel Text: John 18:1-18
Old Testament: Exodus 12:1-4, 11-14
Psalm: Psalm 116:1-2, 12-19
New Testament: 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Listen and Reflect

With the chaos and unknown to you, how do you encounter our living hope?

Jesus ask us the same question, “Who is it you want?” Reply to this questions with who you know him to be and how you want him to show up in your life today. Examples from our worship song include “Way maker, Miracle worker, Promise keeper, Light in the darkness, My God That is who you are!”

Prayers for the World,
the Church, Others, & Myself

Thank you, Lord Jesus. You made a way for us. You have given us a new covenant, one sealed in Your blood -- the blood that brought victory over sin and death and continues to bring victory in our lives. Your forgiveness that covers us and redeems us is a gift of love and passion. Help us live this truth out in our lives -- to serve as You served, to love as You loved. Empower our prayers, praise, and our lives with Your Spirit to do Your will. In the name of our savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Play Surrounded (Fight My Battles) by Josh Baldwin and Bethel Worship and stand and praise God and pray during the song, sing and continue in prayer: we have a God whose ear is inclined to our very words and empowers our prayers.

Song

Open your heart as you sing the praise song led by Ryan Bell

Way Maker - Leeland

You are here
Moving in the mist
I worship you
I worship you

You are here
Working in this place
I worship you
I worship you

And you are
Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who you are

And you are
Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who you are

You are here
Turning lives around
I worship you
I worship you

You are here
And you're healing every heart
I worship you
I worship you

And you are
Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who you are

And you are
Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who you are

And that is who you are
(That is who you are), yeah
That is who you are
(That is who you are), yeah-eh-ay

Even when I don't see it, you're workin'
Even when I don't feel it, you're workin'
You never stop, you never stop workin'
You never stop, Jesus you are

Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who you are
(I know, I know you are)

Way maker, miracle worker
Promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God, that is who you are
Yeah, that is who you are
(That is who you are)
That is who you are
(That is who you are)
Jesus, that is who you are

Closing Prayer

Jesus, You are the Way and You are the way maker. I will follow You as You go before me and prepare the way for what is ahead in Your plan.

I know that You will see to every detail so that what needs to be done will already be done before I arrive… the path revealed, the direction confirmed, the way established. I trust in You to unlock the doors that need to be opened, loosen the things that need to be untied, and remove the hindrances that need to be taken away.

I ask You to provide for all that is needed as I walk along Your appointed path. Open my eyes to see the way You are leading, give me the understanding to take the right steps, strengthen me with the patience to move at the right pace, and work within my words and actions to say and do things in the right way.

I trust in You to do what no one else can do, to work in ways that no one else can work, to perform the wonders no one else can perform. Lord, I thank You that You will make a way!

Open Psalm 136 and use it in a time of prayer and praise before a meal today. Remember this is the song that Jesus and his disciples sang after they celebrated the Passover.
