Summer time, summer time, sum, sum, summer time!
Do you remember that little jingle? I have never forgotten the tune. Although it is not officially summer until June 21 – it certainly is beginning to feel and look like it has already arrived. Some students have celebrated graduation; others are done for the summer. And this week at Grace is VBS! It is amazing to watch how people's JOY METERS seem to accelerate with the arrival of summer.
So, with this in mind, has anyone asked you "the question" yet? You know the one: "What are you doing this Summer?" Something so simple and yet so revealing.
For many of us, June begins the official three-month season of vacations – it may be a vacation from school. It may be a vacation in the form of a trip somewhere with your family. It may be a vacation from some of the commitments you normally have during the school year. It may even be a vacation from an alarm clock. Whatever your "vacation" is – it is often referred to with great excitement and anticipation when you answer "the question."
